1999: We were announcing the pre-feasibility study of the Maputo greenfield. 2005: The project started within the time span we predicted.

1999: We explained why deregulations of the US energy market finally triggered Southwire's decision to build the 5th potline at the NSA smelter (Hawesville, Kentucky). 2005: The project started within the time span we predicted.

1999: We indicated that Aluar (Argentina) would certainly go ahead with the expansion of the Puerto Madryn smelter. 2005: They did when we predicted.

1999: We were skeptical about the viability of a smelter in Trinidad. 2005: We still are, despite Alcoa's initiatives.

1999: We were announcing five Chinese projects: Qingtongxia, Baiyin, Zongzhou, Shanxi and Pingguo Phase 2. 2005: They were completed as forecast.

1999: We were following up on Egyptalum's retrofit and expansion of Nag Hammadi. 2005: Both took places with some difficulties we discussed.

1999: We were well informed of the latest Iceland project which would later become the Grundartangi greenfield. 2005: It was completed as forecast and we announced Grundartangi's extension.

1999: We knew about Hydro Aluminium's projects regarding Sunndal. 2005: Sunndal's State of the Art technology is Hydro's showcase and is transferred to their Qatar greenfield.
